INDIANAPOLIS –     The Pacers opened their only actual home game in the preseason Thursday night against their Central Division rivals Chicago Bulls.  It was a night of firsts.  The new faces on the Pacers rosters, seeing how they gel together, the debut of Dwyane Wade with his hometown Bulls and addition of point guard Rajon Rondo.

The Pacers looked strong and impressive throughout the night and prevailed with a 115-108 victory at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.   Indiana had 6 guys in double figures tonight with balance scoring.  Rodney Stuckey led the Pacers with 20 points. The new triplets  the Pacers added during the summer had good home debuts with Thaddeus Young dropping 16 points and 8 rebounds; Al Jefferson coming off the bench with 15 points 11 rebounds and Jeff Teague 10 points in 26 minutes.  Paul George scored 7 points and played only the 1st and 3rd quarters.  Dwyane Wade had 10 points for Chicago.  Dinwiddie led all Chicago scorers with 19 points.

Indiana has scored 114 and 115 in their first two preseason games and sit 2-0.  The future looks bright for this young team and I believe that they have the pieces to make a deep run in the playoffs.  Al Jefferson will be a big shot in the arm for the Pacers 2nd unit and add additional scoring.

Indiana returns to the court Saturday against the same Chicago team but this time in the United Center.  It may only be preseason but the Pacers are giving fans a reason for optimism this year !
